Fresh Ayodhya plea shows BJP's desperation for verdict in Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri case before Lok Sabha polls

The Centre's writ petition in the Supreme Court maintains that the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas had sought the return of this "excess" land to it. In 2003, the court had ordered that the status quo be maintained on this 67-acre plot.
