New Delhi: Seven people were killed and three injured after the bus they were travelling in rammed into a parked trailer near Madai Ghat in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district on Monday.

Police said the incident took place in the wee hours of Monday when the bus belonging to a private travel company was heading to Surguja district from state capital Raipur.
The injured were rushed to a local hospital, they added.
“The incident took place around 4 am. The injured have been admitted to a local hospital,” said SP Korba Santosh Singh.
As per preliminary information, the bus driver was trying to avoid a collision with a car coming from the opposite direction. The bus then hit the stationary truck, an official said.
The bus driver has been arrested, the official said.
