CBSE 12th Result 2021 declared on cbseresults.nic.in; 99.37% of students clear exams this year

After a long wait, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has finally released the Class 12 board results today, 30 July. Students, who were waiting for their results, can now visit the official website cbseresults.nic.in to check their scores.

In order to access their scorecards, students first have to download their roll numbers through the 'Roll Number Finder' window which is available on cbse.gov.in. This is because the exams were scrapped by the CBSE amid the second wave of coronavirus and candidates didn't get admit cards with their roll numbers.

The CBSE has achieved a record high pass percentage as almost all students have cleared class 12 results. Of the 13,04,561 candidates who registered for the exam this year, as many as 12,96,318 have cleared the exam taking the pass percentage at 99.37 percent.

Here are the steps candidates can follow to check their Class 12 results:

Step 1: Visit the official website, cbseresults.nic.in

Step 2: Open the Class 12 result link available on the homepage

Step 3: Enter the required details like roll number, registration number, etc. on the new page

Step 4: After submitting the details, your Class 12 scorecard will appear on the screen

Step 5: Check your CBSE Class 12 result and save a copy. Take a printout for future reference

This year, CBSE has not released any merit list for Class 12 due to the pandemic and change in assessment criteria. The results for Class 12 students have been evaluated on the basis of marks secured in Class 10, 11, and 12. While 30 percent weightage was given to marks obtained in Class 10 and 11 each, Class 12 marks secured in mid-term/unit test/pre-board exams held 40 percent weightage.

This year, for the first time, students also have the option to access their scorecards through DigiLocker.

- Enter the required details like name, gender, date of birth (as mentioned in aadhaar card), email id, Aadhaar number, and mobile number along with a 6-digit security PIN

- Set a username after submitting the above-mentioned details

- Open the 'Education and click on the ‘Central Board of Secondary Education’ link

- On the new page, search and open the Class 12 mark sheet or result

- The result will be displayed on the screen. Check it

The Digilocker app only requires the registered mobile number and Aadhar Card number to access the mark sheet or results. There is no need to submit the CBSE roll number.

After Class 12 results, the board will announce the Class 10 results very soon.

SC steps in, seeks report on probe status as Jharkhand judge's death sparks murder suspicion

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday took suo motu cognisance of the “sad demise” of Judge Uttam Anand, who was allegedly mowed down in Dhanbad, and sought a status report within a week from Jharkhand’s Chief Secretary and the Director-General of Police (DGP) on the progress of their investigation into the incident.

A bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana said the Jharkhand High Court would monitor the probe.

The bench, which also comprised Justice Surya Kant, issued notice to all the states in relation to similar cases of alleged attacks on officials of the law. It specifically sought the presence of the Jharkhand Advocate General when it hears the case next week.

Earlier, two persons were arrested in connection with the hit-and-run case in Dhanbad that left Judge Uttam Anand dead during his morning jog, a top police officer said. The arrests were made following the recovery of the three-wheeler involved in the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dhanbad, Sanjiv Kumar, said.

CCTV footage showed that Anand, district and sessions judge-VIII of Dhanbad court, was jogging on one side of a fairly wide road at Randhir Verma Chowk early on 28 July when a heavy auto-rickshaw veered towards him, hit him from behind and fled the scene. Locals took him to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

According to sources in the Dhanbad court, Anand, known to be a strict judge, had recently declined bail pleas of some gangsters, and the incident could be a fallout of this decision.

"We have arrested two persons, auto driver Lakhan Verma and his helper Rahul Verma, on the morning of July 29. Rahul Verma, a resident of Digwadih, Dhanbad, was arrested from a tempo stand, while the other person was held in Giridih," the SSP told PTI. He also said that the three-wheeler, recovered from Giridih, is registered in a woman's name.

An FIR was filed in the case after the wife of the 49-year-old deceased judge lodged a complaint with the Dhanbad police. "We are probing the case from all angles, including murder," Kumar asserted.

Later, during a press meet, the SSP said a special investigation team (SIT), led by Dhanbad SP R Ramkumar, is trying to find out more details in the case. A five-member forensic team has also visited the site of the incident during the day to collect samples necessary for the investigation, he noted.

Meanwhile, Dhanbad Bar Association claimed that Anand, who hailed from Hazaribag, was murdered and demanded a thorough probe into the incident. All lawyers of Dhanbad Bar Association will carry out a silent procession on Friday in protest against the murder of Dhanbad judge and demand protection for lawyers from the government, said its president, Amarendra Sahay. Condemning the incident, Jharkhand Bar Council member Hemant Sikarwa demanded a CBI probe into the case.

The Jharkhand High Court has ordered an SIT probe into the death of Anand, under the leadership of additional director general of police Sanjay Latkar. Taking cognisance of a letter filed before the court by the Dhanbad principal district judge in the case, Chief Justice Ravi Ranjan converted it into a writ petition and ordered the formation of the SIT.

He said Chief Justice of India NV Ramana has spoken to him in the matter and expressed confidence that a fair investigation will be carried out in the case. The high court stated it will monitor the probe and sought updates from the SIT from time to time.

If at any point in time it appears to the court that the investigation is not heading in the right direction, then the case will be handed over to the CBI, the chief justice added.

Assam HSLC Result 2021 declared: Pass percentage at 93.1%; Class 10 scores available at sebaonline.org

The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has announced the HSLC Result (Class 10) today, 30 July. Candidates who are waiting for their Class 10 results can now check their scores by visiting the official website of SEBA https://sebaonline.org/.

Along with the official website, students can access their results from other websites as well including results.sebaonline.org, resultsassam.nic.in, and assamresult.in.

This year, the overall pass percentage stood at 93.10 percent which is a huge 30 percent jump as compared to 2020. Last year, only 64.80 percent had managed to clear Class 10 examinations in the state.

Around 88,521 students have secured first division, 1,60,298 got second while 1,48,313 students have been placed in the third division. A total of 3,97,132 students have cleared the exams and the results of 26 candidates have been withheld.

Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases across the country, the HSLC exams this year were canceled by the Assam Board. Following this, the board came up with an evaluation criterion.

As per the new policy, the Class 10 exams will be calculated on the basis of the 40:40:20 formula. So, students will be given 40 percent marks from the Class 9 annual exam, followed by another 40 percent marks from the Class 10 exams and the remaining 20 percent marks will be assigned to students by their respective schools.

Factors like attendance, internal assessment for 20 percent marks will also be considered by the board.

This year, the Board of Secondary Education in Assam will issue digital mark sheets for students that will be accepted for admission in all schools. Meanwhile, SEBA has also informed that the original mark sheets and other documents for students will be distributed by the board once the ongoing restrictions in the state are relaxed.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced that the exams for private candidates will be held from 16 August. The CBSE Board will conduct the written exams for private category of students between 16 August and 15 September, and their result will also be declared in the minimum possible time to avoid any difficulty to them in admission to higher education.

"Result of private candidates cannot be prepared without conducting exams as neither schools nor board has assessment records," said CBSE Board.

As the board examinations were cancelled by the CBSE due to the second COVID-19 wave, students didn't receive hall tickets with their roll numbers this year. However, the board activated the ‘Roll Number Finder’ window yesterday on the CBSE website where candidates can check and download their roll numbers. In order to access their roll numbers, the registered candidates have to log in at the portal cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/cbse.html and insert their login details.

Here are the steps to check roll numbers:

- Go to cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/cbse.html

- Open the 'Roll Number Finder' link after scrolling down

- As the new page opens, click on the 'Continue' button

- Select the Class (10 or 12)

- Now, enter the candidate’s name, date of birth, father's name, and mother's name

- Submit the details and access the roll number

For the second consecutive year, the board is not going to release any merit list for Class 10 and 12 results this year. This decision has been taken due to the changes in evaluation criteria and the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

As per the new criteria, Class 10 results will be assessed on the basis of a student's performance in the half-yearly examination, unit tests, and pre-boards. While for Class 12, 30 percent weightage will be given to Class 10 and 11 marks each and the remaining 40 percent weightage is for Class 12 marks secured in mid-term/unit test/pre-board exams.

Apart from the official websites, the CBSE board results will also be available through DigiLocker for the first time.

In a first, Assam issues travel advisory against visiting Mizoram, claims threat to citizens in neighbouring statee

The Assam government has issued a travel advisory asking people to avoid travelling to Mizoram. It has also asked those from the state working or staying there to exercise utmost caution. This, while the two states traded accusations over the deployment of security forces along the interstate border. The development also comes four days after both sides were locked in a fierce gun battle near the boundary that left six policemen and a civilian dead.

The travel advisory, which is perhaps a first of its kind issued by any state government, signed by Assam Home Secretary M S Manivannan said "given the prevailing situation, the people of Assam are advised not to travel to Mizoram as any threat to the personal safety of people of Assam cannot be accepted." The advisory pointed out that there had been several cases of violent skirmishes along the border areas between Assam and Mizoram and claimed that "certain members of Mizo civil society, students and youth organisations are constantly issuing provocative statements against Assam and its people".

It also claimed that it had reliably learned from video footage available with Assam police, that many Mizoram civilians, armed with automatic weapons, remain deployed at the border.

As per ANI Cachar Guardian Minister Ashok Singhal has said, "in video footage, Mizoram civilians are (seen) threatening us and they are carrying weapons too. So we have issued an advisory for the people of Assam not to visit Mizoram. If somebody still goes there, we will not take his/her responsibility."

"We want peace, and have handed over our post to the CRPF, but the Mizoram government has still not withdrawn its personnel from the post, which is sad," Singhal said. The minister, who visited Lailapur near the interstate border, assured locals that all measures will be taken by the Assam government to ensure their safety and security and appealed to them not to panic.

He claimed Mizoram wanted to settle the dispute by arms and ammunitions and that is the wrong approach.

A defiant Mizoram government, meanwhile, countered stating a large contingent of Assam police personnel was being mobilised at the interstate border. Home Secretary Lalbiaksangi, in a letter to the additional secretary in charge of the northeast, has said armed personnel of Assam police was moving to Dholai and Hawaithang areas in Cachar district, where violence had erupted on July 26. In view of the tense situation at present, mobilisation of a large contingent of police at the interstate border by Assam is quite objectionable, and will lead to apprehension and panic among the people on both sides, she said.

Lalbiaksangi also urged the Union home ministry to issue instructions to the Assam government to refrain from such reinforcement. The Cachar guardian minister, however, said Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wants the dispute to be resolved through dialogue.

On July 28, during a meeting chaired by Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla in Delhi, both state governments had agreed to deploy Central Armed Police Force personnel in the disturbed areas under the supervision of the Union home ministry. Earlier in the day, Singhal along with a delegation had reviewed the prevailing situation and held talks with officials at the border.

They also met families of deceased constables Manjurul Haque Barbhuiya and Shyamsundar Dusat and gave cheques amounting to Rs 50 lakh each. A Cachar district official has said the situation along the Assam-Mizoram was now "calm and under control".

Meanwhile, the Assam home department has ordered the checking of all vehicles coming in from Mizoram, claiming drugs were making their way from Mizoram which borders Myanmar.

In a separate order, the Assam government has directed the Deputy Commissioners of Kamrup Metro and Cachar, Guwahati police commissioner and Cachar superintendent of police to ensure the safety and security of all persons from Mizoram as well as those staying at Mizoram Houses at Guwahati and Silchar. Mizoram had earlier made an appeal to its people to protect non-Mizos staying in the tribal state and promised them due protection.

Tension along the border with Mizoram in Cachar and Hailakandi districts of Assam have been escalating since October 2020 with frequent incidents of burning of houses and encroachment of land. The two states share a 164.6-km border between Assam's Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj districts, and Mizoram's Kolasib, Mamit and Aizawl.

Both states have differing interpretations of their territorial border. While Mizoram believes that its border lies along an inner line drawn up in 1875 to protect tribals from outside influence, Assam goes by a district demarcation done in the 1930s.

Jharkhand Class 12 Results 2021: JAC to release scorecards today after 12 pm

After the announcement of Class 10 results on July 29, the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) is set to announce the results for Jharkhand Board Class XII  on Friday. Students can check their scores by visiting the official websites jacresults.com and jac.jharkhand.gov.in after 12 pm.

Once the results are released, candidates can follow these simple steps to access their Class XII scorecards:

Step 2: Open the 'Results' tab available on the homepage

Step 3: As the new page opens, click on the JAC Class XII results link

Step 4: Now, enter the login credentials and submit them

The exams were scheduled to be held between 4 - 22 May, this year. However, the state government cancelled the practical as well as written papers due to the surge in COVID-19 cases across the state. The scorecards, therefore, have been prepared on the basis of evaluation criteria released by the state board.

As per the criteria, the Class XII results will be based on marks secured by students in Class XI. Out of the total marks, 80 percent weightage will be given to written exams while the remaining 20 percent weightage is for practicals.

In 2020, around 2.34 lakh candidates had appeared for the Jharkhand Class XII exams. Out of these, 1.29 lakh belonged to the Arts, 76,585 to the Science, and 28,515 to the commerce streams.

MBOSE Class 12 Result 2021: Meghalaya Board to declare HSSLC scores today at 11 am

The Meghalaya Class 12 results will be declared by the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBOSE) today, 30, July. The board has announced that the results will be announced at 11:00 am. Once released, the registered students can check their scores by visiting the official website megresults.nic.in.

The board will declare the results of the Science, Commerce, and Vocational streams today.

“The whole Result(s) Booklet can be downloaded from the MBOSE Official website mbose.in. There will be no display of results in MBOSE Office, Tura/Shillong, and even in the examination centres due to the COVID-19 situation,” an official notice reads.

Further in the statement, MBOSE also informed that due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, there will be no distribution of results in the registered office and in the examination centres.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Meghalaya board was among the few boards across the country to conduct the Class 12 examinations this year. The exams took place from 16 April to 12 May.
